Internationally known and grammy award winner, Ralph Stanley, influenced countless others with his distinctive singing and banjo playing. In 1976 he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music from Lincoln Memorial University, spawning the popular title “Dr. Ralph Stanley.”
